Connecticut Hamasnik senator Chris Murphy responded to a disputed report indicating that 26 Iranian “shadow fleet” vessels had breached the United States’ naval blockade by calling the news “awesome.” After intense criticism, he said he was being sarcastic and argued that the real story was “the fact that Iranian ships are blowing past the US ‘blockade.’” Just one problem: Fox News reported that there is “no evidence” that “26 vessels from Iran’s shadow fleet were able to make it past the U.S. blockade.”

Arizona senator Ruben Gallego “proactively met in person with Senate Ethics Committee staff” one day after Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna “accused Gallego of sexual misconduct based on another woman’s account,” Axios reported. Gallego, a close friend of sex pest Eric Swalwell, denied any wrongdoing and said he “proactively reached out to them and told them we will comply and give everything.”
