Elsewhere: The U.S.-Iran ceasefire is “unbelievably weak” and on “massive life support,” according to President Donald Trump, who called the Iranian proposal to end the war “a piece of garbage” that he didn’t bother reading in its entirety. Trump also said Iran had agreed to allow the United States to remove its enriched uranium “two days ago,” but “they changed their mind, because they didn’t put it in the paper.” The nation that has mediated the ceasefire negotiations, Pakistan, isn’t exactly a neutral party—it “quietly allowed Iranian military aircraft to park on its airfields, potentially shielding them from American airstrikes,” CBS News reported. On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates has been carrying out strikes on Iran that it hasn’t publicly acknowledged, per the Wall Street Journal. Virginia Democrats filed an emergency application with the U.S. Supreme Court asking it to overturn a Virginia Supreme Court ruling that deemed the Democrats’ gerrymandering ballot measure in violation of the state constitution. What that has to do with the federal government is anybody’s guess. Northwestern University’s interim president, Henry Bienen, is “positive about the relationship” between the school and Hamas-friendly Qatar, he told the Daily Northwestern on Monday. Bienen appears unbothered by a clause in Northwestern’s contract with Qatar that forbids the school from criticizing the Qatari regime.
