(Photo by Joshua Lott/Getty Images) The prestigious honors colleges at Arizona’s largest public universities require students to take seminars loaded with racially divisive, anti-capitalist, and anti-Israel reading material, the Free Beacon’s Alana Goodman reports. In one session, instructors asked students to “formulate questions” like “What is the relationship between the white female gaze and the eroticized Black male body?” At Arizona State, the largest public university in the United States, new students at its Barrett Honors College take a course called “The Human Event.” Though the university’s website shows a “sample” reading list composed entirely of classic works by the likes of Plato, the Arizona-based think tank Goldwater Institute obtained the actual syllabus through a public records request. It includes books claiming that “patriarchy” controls society and that Israel enforces “militantly oppressive discriminations between Jews and non-Jews.” The slightly more selective University of Arizona’s Franke Honors College mandates similar courses like “Eating the Globe: The Diverse, Weird, and Queer Food Politics,” which focuses on whether food can be “colonized and decolonized.” “The Goldwater Institute report”—shared exclusively with the Free Beacon—“further demonstrates that public universities outside the northeast are not immune to left-wing indoctrination,” writes Goodman. “Earlier this month, the University of Florida removed a syllabus for a graphic design course that offered ‘potential accommodations’ to ‘queer and trans students, BIPOC students, first-gen students, and students navigating complex lives,’ the Free Beacon reported.” READ MORE: Arizona’s Public Universities Require Honors Students To Study Far-Left Material, Including the ‘Relationship Between the White Female Gaze and the Eroticized Black Male Body’ Additio Commen
