Additional reading: A “terrorist gunman” rammed a vehicle into a major synagogue in West Bloomfield, Mich., Temple Israel, and attempted to carry out a mass shooting but was foiled by the synagogue’s heroic armed security guards. The gunman’s death is the only reported injury resulting from the attack. In a separate incident, 36-year-old Mohamed Bailor Jalloh opened fire at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Jalloh, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Sierra Leone, according to Fox News, was sentenced to 11 years in prison in 2017 for attempting to provide material support to ISIS but was released early in December 2024. When the Free Beacon found that a photo California Democrat Ro Khanna cited as proof that Jeffrey Epstein was “inside” CIA headquarters actually showed Epstein visiting an Hermès design studio, Khanna’s aides claimed the congressman was not referring to the photo at all. They pointed to unrelated emails and gave us the runaround. Now, Khanna admits to our friend Jamie Kirchick that the photo in question places Epstein at the luxury French leather goods company and concedes he made another bogus claim. Mojtaba Khamenei delivered his first public message since becoming Iran’s supreme leader—which is to say that Iranian state TV anchors read a statement attributed to Khamenei in which he said he “will not forgo avenging the blood of the martyrs.” There was no accompanying video or updated photo, likely because Khamenei is widely considered to have been injured in the strike that killed his father. Ohio Democratic congresswoman and Kennedy Center trustee Joyce Beatty filed an emergency legal complaint last week alleging President Donald Trump did not invite her to an upcoming board meeting for the center. It turns out the invitation was “in the spam folder of her personal email address,” as a Beatty aide acknowledged in an updated filing. As Kamala Harris reportedly works to “keep open the option of running for president again in 2028,” a new Politico poll shows her trailing by double digits in her home state of California to fellow Golden Stater Gavin Newsom.
