Additional reading: Whoopsie, part II: Hours after CNN published—then revised, and revised again—a ridiculous article portraying the alleged ISIS-inspired terrorists in New York City as exuberant teenagers who got a little carried away, primetime anchor Abby Phillip sullied the airwaves with misinformation, falsely describing the failed bombing as “an attempted terror attack against New York City’s mayor, Zohran Mamdani.” Phillip acknowledged the mistake in a Wednesday morning statement noting the bombs were “thrown into a crowd of anti-Muslim protestors and not specifically targeted at Mayor Mamdani.” Voting with his feet: Former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz is swapping Seattle for Florida as Washington Democrats near the finish line on a “millionaires tax.” Schultz, who has lived in Seattle for more than four decades, reportedly purchased a $44 million penthouse in Surfside, Florida, and he’s also relocating his private family office to Miami. He’s the latest billionaire to move to Florida and other low-tax red states, joining the likes of Oracle founder Larry Ellison and Google cofounder Larry Page, both of whom are fleeing California for Florida. At a rally in Tehran, Iranian regime loyalists reportedly displayed a crudely assembled cardboard cutout—held together with tape—of new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not appeared in public or issued a statement since being tapped for the role following the death of his tyrant father. Israel is keen to reunite Khamenei with his father, but his public disappearance is unlikely to be just about security: Reports indicate that Khamenei was injured on the first day of Operation Epic Fury. Jill Biden is publishing a memoir, View From the East Wing, about her time running the country serving as first lady “in the midst of a pandemic and the shadow of an insurrection,” as she put it in her announcement video. In a surprise to no one, her memoir “is likely to hit bookstores before her husband’s does,” according to the New York Times. Check out our full Thursday lineup below.
